At what temperature should I not ride my bike?

I am a Florida person. My whole life I've never lived anywhere else. I am moving to Chicago, Illinois and will be a 2 mile bike ride away from my job. I am planning on riding my bike to work everyday but I am concerned about the cold. For such a short bike ride, at what temperature should I consider not riding?

1. My comfort zone is about 45F You can find wind chill charts all over the Internet At 45F, traveling at 55 MPH, the wind chill is 32F If you dress for the weather, you can ride when it is colder. But I wouldn't recommend riding when there is snow or ice on the road. Also be aware that with motorcycle tires there are some that have less grip in the cold weather. So you would need to ride in cold temperatures, slow down accordingly.
2. You're worried about cold in May? You've got months of warm weather ahead. As to cold, you should consider not taking the bike once there is snow on the ground.
3. does it matter what sort of weather it is, if you,ve got to get to work, and a bikes all you have then, man you goota ride the bike.come rain or shine.
4. A bike is almost useless until the snowplows go thru and even then you will wish you had started your car.
