RUNNING??? ?
kk I just can not run. I get tired, cramps, sweaty, and out of breath after not even 1/4 of a mile. I am upset because all my friends can run 2 miles straight. I would really like to be able to run a mile without running out of breath, or getting cramps... How can I train myself to be able to do this? it dusnt have to be running.. it can be jogging a mile under 10 minutes without stopping or loosing breath i have flat feet

- if you want to run well, practice running.
- keep training. Or maybe you arent a long distance person. You should try sprinting like the 100m or the 200m.
- The second answer could be true. We are al made different and some sprinters just struggle to run any distance. But if you really want to run a mile without stopping, here is some guidelines. Being consistant is important so train every second day and then when comfortable to say 4-6 days a week. Start off walking one lamp post, jogging one or the equivalent distance in a park. Looking at building the distance up to 3 miles (walk 1.5 miles - jog 1.5 miles total made up of 15 x 100m runs) and then introduce longer jogs and the same walk distance. Slowly you will improve to where you can run 2 miles.
- running takes a lot of time most cross country runners run 2-3 months of slow runs before they start doing any kind of speed stuff. each day try to run a little farther than you did before and before you know it youll be running a mile or even two! also your friends may only be able to run 2 miles at a much slower pace than you. when running long distance and just getting started, jog. it should be a pace at which you can talk comfortabley. if you cant talk SLOW DOWN!! once you can run the mileage you are shooting for is when you start to work on speed good luck!
